Popis kurzu

This lecture and lab course was formerly "HP OpenView Radia Packaging and Publishing". It introduces best practices of publishing with HP Configuration Management (CM): the ideal set-up and design of a publishing lab, quality assurance, and piloting prior to deploying applications within production.

  • CM customers: Experienced CM Administrators interested in learning how to use the CM Packager and Publisher to optimally repackage legacy applications and to publish pre-existing Windows Installer applications
  • CM Channel Partners: Consultants and planners involved in project implementation activities
  • HP Engineers involved in pre-sales and post-sales

Obsah kurzu

Learn how to:

  • Prepare a proper publishing environment.
  • Package and/or publish shrink-wrapped and in-house developed applications in both legacy and Windows Installer format.
  • Update and upgrade applications.
  • Perform “pre-“ and “post-“ executions during installation, verification, repair, update, and removal of an application.
  • Export and import packages among CM Configuration Servers.
  • Troubleshoot errant applications on the CM Client.
  • Configure and deploy client self-maintenance.
  • Use the CM Publishing Adapter to package a set of files.
  • Establish package-to-package relationships.
  • Use the Batch MSI function to successively publishing multiple MSI files.
