This course provides an overview of the design, control, and improvement of manufacturing and service production systems. Topics include quantitative techniques such as production scheduling, linear programming, inventory management, PERT, CPM, and statistical process control as well as strategic and integrative concepts such as quality and productivity improvement, resource allocation, the transfer of production technology to developing countries, lean production, and global supply chain management.
